The Clun Forest sheep on this website were responsible for introducing me to Cardigans. A fellow Clun Forest breeder, Marvin Thill, brought along his Cardigans on sheep business to my farm and I fell in love with his red sable bitch, “Rhosy” Rhosymedre AP Caernarvon. A couple of years later I brought home one of Rhosy’s pups. |

MJ R Mere Valentine HT CGC TDI “Val”
Our first Cardigan and heart dog literally!
She was appropriately named Valentine by her breeder Marvin Thill “Caernarvon” since she has a heart shaped marking on her forehead. Val is a love anyone kind of Cardigan, initiating affection seeking petting and belly rubs. She is playful, intelligent, and has that desire to please.
Val is a beautifully marked black with a full white collar and brilliant tan points. At an early age Val showed the desire to herd so we let her give herding a try. She showed potential and passed a leg of the AHBA Herd Capability Test. She went on to get her AKC Herd Test title on sheep at the age of two. We will take our time and continue with herd training but her owner/handler is her handicap right now. She is a willing farmhand to help round up any sheep that may need it in the meantime. For fun we have also given Rally Obedience a try. At age 3, Val passed her Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog Tests so we look forward to many years of bringing smiles. We bred her to our conformation Champion male and had one litter of 8 puppies in 2007. The puppies went to loving homes and Rachel kept the tri male "Alfie" pictured below who is very playful. They adore each other and we have many puppy tales!

CH Byrnecrest Tri-ed To Tell Ya “Tex”
Our first AKC Conformation Champion! Tex had picked up 3 majors before he was 10 months of age and finished his Championship at 15 months of age with a novice owner/handler. We enjoyed becoming a team and appreciate all the help we received along the way! Tex is co-owned with his breeder, Pamela Byrne, www.byrnecrest.com.
This red male pup took me to Texas and he has grown into a beautiful dog with lovely movement. Tex was an easy going pup that fit well into our household and also had show potential so he was a perfect match. He has exceeded any and all expectations. We are grateful to Pamela for her efforts producing his litter.
Tex’s sire is UK CH Joseter We Tri-ed, a previous top sire imported to the U.S. in 2004 from England. His dam is a lovely red bitch, CH Byrnecrest’s Penny Lane sired by CH Twinroc Poet of Pluperfect HSAS. Tex is from PRA Clear lines and is OFA Hips rated Good, and is DM (Degenerative Myopathy) N/N Normal. Available for stud to approved bitches. Scheduled for collection in 2010.
Tex is a Regional Specialty Winner, 2005 CWCCWR. Best Red Dog in 2009 Megan Competition, CWCCA National.
